Terrarium Building Workshop
This workshop is more complicated, but children will learn how to layer a terrarium, design it with plants of their choosing and decorate it with rocks, sand and a mini figurine! They’ll learn about the water cycle, how to care for plants and how to look after their new micro-ecosystem! LEARN MORE
Plant and Sip Workshop
Children will learn the basics of photosynthesis, plant survival and native vs exotic plants. Then they’ll decorate terracotta pots with paint pens, stickers and themed decorations! The workshop includes a drink for each child, with the choice of iced tea, juice or fruit-flavoured mineral water. LEARN MORE
Bug Hotels Workshop
Children will learn about insects, their habitats, pollination and more! Then they’ll decorate and fill their very own bug hotel to take home to provide a safe place for solitary bees and other pollinators. LEARN MORE
Wiggly Worms Workshop
Children will learn everything there is to know about worms and composting, they’ll hold a worm and make their own take-home miniature worm farm (wormery) with 3 worms each! LEARN MORE
Incredible Insects Workshop
In this workshop, students will learn all about stick insects, where they are found, why they should care for animals and stick insects, and how they can care for them. They also will get to hold a spiny leaf insect while inspecting it with their own magnifying glass they get to keep. Lastly, they’ll make their own stick insect with craft and natural materials. Desert Terrarium Workshop
In this workshop, you'll get a lesson on plants AND get to make your very own desert terrarium to take home! We'll start by teaching you about succulents, what they need to survive, and how they cope in times of drought. LEARN MORE
Seed Surprise Workshop
In this workshop children will learn about the lifecycle of plants, pollination, how they can harvest seeds and guerilla gardening. Then they’ll make lots of seed surprises using native Australian seeds, and can roll them into any shape they like or use our flower moulds from an Australian business. You guys were great. We really appreciated the tutors making an effort to engage all of our children. There were a couple of times in the session where some students did not want to continue but your tutors intervention recreated interest and they went back to it.

Thank you so much for running it! Feedback from educators and children was amazing. Educators said it was really engaging and there was a great amount of resources available for the children. The children loved being able to take them home and excitedly tell their parents “We have to spray them every 2 or 3 days”. We are looking forward to our bug hotel program next year!
